Default Anyone Running NGK TR6 plugs?

My tuner suggested them for my car and i'm looking for feedback on them before i buy a set. I tried NGK TR-55s before (my own idea) and my car didn't car for them.

TR-55's are stock heat range, TR-6's are typically used for cam'd cars, or those using small nitrous kits.

Me too. Head/cam/intake with TR6's now. Used to run TR55's when I was a header/CAI only Z06.

I switched to them for the track car. No cam or heads. Working great.

How much compression are you running? Any power-adder? I wouldn't go to a TR6 just because you're running an aftermarket camshaft....but more compression and/or some nitrous would be good reasons to go with that cooler plug. We run the NGK's in a variety of applications with alot of success.

Nothing special yet.
What exactly is a "cooler plug" and why would it be benificial in a higher horsepower engine?

That is a very helpful link to explain what heat ranges are. Many think it makes the fire of combustion itself cooler which is not the case. It is how much heat the plug retains/dissipates.

Again, depending on compression you can set them anywhere from .030-.045". In many vehicles, you don't need or benefit from the TR6 (one heat range cooler), and would be better off with a TR55.
