Default Redline...what a huge improvement

Well, I either became a much better driver and learned how to shift the vette like the whole thing was greased with butter, or changing my trans and diff fluid to Redline products did the trick.

I had a stockpile of the Redline fluids in my garage (ran into a deal I couldn't pass up), and finally did my first trans and diff fluid change.

The vette is a '01 vert with 20K miles. I'm the original owner. The car was always difficult to shift compared to other cars I've driven, and the sloppy clutch would jerk the car around a bit even on Sunday cruises.

I changed the factory fluids two nights ago, and drove it 350 miles today. Some city, some highway, and some really aggressive runs. It was so much smoother even my wife noticed the difference.

Notchy shifter is much improved, and the clutch is as predictable as a new Honda. Its never driven this smooth.

I am a forum junkie, and based on forum members experiences I only run Mobil 1 in my truck, choppers, atvs, tractor, and mower. The BMW gets Royal Purple (didn't see any improvements with Redline...RP does it). Looks like the vette likes Redline. I would love to stockpile only one brand of synthetic, but I hate to change a good thing...

Hey, glad to hear the vett is running well for you. I'm having a hard time with the clutch improvements however. Did you change the clutch master cylinder fluid? If so, I hope not with Redline.

Well now it's time to get you away from that Mobil 1. Since you changed the rest of the fluids over to a superior product why stick with an inferior motor oil?

Yup. ATF.

Just got back from South Tx, which completed about 1100 miles on the car in a week since the fluid change. Drives real good.

Cajun, now pull the shifter out and clean and grease it, and you will really be in Hog Heaven. For my 2000 it was as big again an improvement as the fluid change.

You think your car is shifting good now, put in a tick master cylinder and you will be even more amazed.
