They sound better and they are made of titanium, so they are lighter. A Ti-catback is a pretty nice upgrade

I did this on my 00 vert and love the difference in sound. They are about half the weight of the regular system and they have the chrome tips.

Plenty of Z06 Tis in the for sale section and most are very good deals.

Great sound, less weight, will NEVER rust and not to mention they look better than the standard C5 exhaust.

I recently put a like-new Z06 cat-back system on my '03 Coupe. The difference in idle sound is slight, it does have a bit more tone at full throttle. Some people like the looks of the large round tips over the stock oval tips, I can't decide which I prefer. As the other members said, the change drops 20+ pounds and that amounts to a couple free horsepower. That, along with the no-rust situation, was why I did it. In fact, by going to my Z06 cat-back, ditching the damn run-flat tires, and going to a slightly lighter battery, I figure the car is now 50 pounds lighter. If you'd prefer for the Ti's to be a little louder, you can find someone that welds titanium and do the "by-pass" mod done to the Ti's. It will certainly give it a more aggressive sound.

A more enjoyable way to spend your money is to go to several track days where you can get a lot of laps at WOT. The Tis on my Z are quite loud at WOT now and somewhat louder at idle. As we used to say about Glass Pack mufflers 50 years ago, "Just need to blow them out a little."

The TIs are a freer flowing exhaust, not sure how much HP, but part of the ZO6 upgrade to 405 HP.

I am at over 600 rwhp with stock ti's, they flow as well as any aftermarket catback that I am aware of and sound and look great. I went from Borla stingers back to the ti's

Default A great option

Putting the Z06 TI's on a regular C5 are a great option. Buying a used set and paying for the shipping is still cheaper than buying an aftermarket system. Like other posters have mentioned, the titanium will never rust. It is lighter and sounds a lot better. I like it all around, idle, at speed, and of course at WOT... DO IT!!!!!!
