Tire pressure
I just got my corvette 2 weeks ago, the tire pressure was at 30 all around, its cold here now and everytime i start here up i get the " Ding Ding" low tire pressure LF, RF, LR, RR, all somewhere around 25, i know cold weather makes the tires low, but where should they be???

Check your tires with a good tire pressure gauge befor driving your car in the morning. Than see if the DIC is the same as what you got with the tire pressure gauge.

Re: Tire pressure (Tom/99)
You did not state the year of your vette. My 2000 would only tolerate 35 PSI before the high pressure went off. My 2001 seems to tolerate to 40 PSI. The tires will take 42-44 PSI. Chevrolet recommends 30 PSI. More for gas mileage than for performance or road comfort.
I run my 2001 at 30 PSI cold, which takes them to 34 PSI as they heat up.
I also noticed in the cold weather (20 degrees F.) that the tires then dropped to 24 PSI, which set the sensors off.
Icidentally the reset button will get rid of the message until you restart the car.
My 2001 has 13K miles. I drag race and autocross and the tires are not showing any adverse wear from running them at 34 PSI.
Good luck and drive the heck out of the tires.

Re: Tire pressure (..::C5Tuner::..)
Tires lose about one PSI for each 10 degree drop in temp. If you set the pressure in your nice warm garage and then park outside in the cold... there goes your pressure again. :rolleyes:

The manual specifies 30/30 psi.
I have 44000 miles on my original GY EMT's and are about to be replaced.
The rear tires have perfect wear but the fronts did wear more on the edges. I ran all the tires on 30/30 which I checked every 2 weeks.
IMHO, the front tires should be inflated to 32~33 psi whereas the rears should remain at 30 psi

Re: Tire pressure (carpe dm)
i talked to corvette engineers at BG about the front tire wear and they said 35# cold in the front will help the wear problem so i have ran #35 cold in the front of my 99 and i had good tire wear at 12,000 miles, my 97 at 13,000 had the tires wore off on the inside more than the outside edge.
