What about the Mobil 1 Extended Performance 5w30 Full Synthetic, how does it compare to the regular Mobil 1 Full Synthetic?

I read on their site that you can go a bit longer on oil changes, not that i do that, but by 5000 miles my oil life monitor is around 15%.

The Extended Performance does not have the GM Spec number that the Corvette requires - GM 4718M.

What do ya'll think, safe to use the Extended Performance 5w30?

From their site:

Mobil 1 Extended Performance engine oils are recommended for all types of modern vehicles, including high-performance turbo-charged, supercharged gasoline multi-valve fuel injected engines found in passenger cars, SUVs, light vans and trucks.

People really over think all of this

In my truck I run Mobil 1 15,000 mile extended performance synthetic 5w30 with a M1 extended performance filter. I change the oil ever 10k. My truck doesn't use a drop of oil and runs like a top. The oil drains out looking perfectly normal.

In my car I run Amsoil 5w40 with a K&N oil filter. I change it per the DIC when I'm not running a track event. I swapped to the heavier oil because back in the day when '01s were oil burners it was recommended to help mitigate some of the oil consumption. Plus, a slightly thicker oil is better for HPDE use.

Stick with the M1 5w30 and whatever filter you want. These cars are egineered to run 200,000 miles w/o a re-build.

Not sure,,but wix manufactures filters for a lot of other marketers so it is quite possible.Wix filters can usually be found at traditional smaller private parts stores(the kind that repair shops use) not so much at the chain stores.
