Default Check Engine???

I just in stalled a CAGs,Now I'm getting check engine codes. PCM 0803 C

I bought it at COH and I,m wondering if its bad.

I also had a new Harmonic balancer put on,It still has a wobble.Should i take it back to the shop or are they suppose to wobble alittle. Thanks

Either you installed the CAGS defeat incorrectly (which is hard to do) or the defeat is bad. Call COH and they'll probably ship you a second one. By the way that is a P0803C code. The P at the front doesn't stand for PCM, it stands for Powertrain.

The Harmonic Balancer should not wobble.

No, it's not supposed to wobble... at all.

I had to take my COH cags eliminator apart, the solder connection for the ONE resistor in it was bad. It was throwing 803's

The balancer is not supposed to wobble. Either the part the shop installed is bad, or they did a poor job installing it, or they ripped you off and did nothing to fix the problem. You decide ....

Rough idle could be due to 1,000 plus different issues ... bad spark plug .... loose plug wire ..... whatever......

You need a good mechanic to diagnose/fix this.

Check the easy things first. Just remove the CAGS module and reconnect the solenoid and see if the codes will clear.
If the code does not come back, the CAGs unit is bad.
Nothing that has a drive belt going around it should wobble!

I called COV and they are sending a newly designed Cags.

The rough idle is a problem,I had alittle black smoke coming from the tail pipe???

Newly designed, there's only one 10 cent resistor in it.

Geez, at least they're sending him another one...think of the comments if they told him to pound sand because it's an electrical component...

I'm betting they are switching to a different supplier .... COH has been selling them for about 10 years now .... and all they are is a resistor inside a weatherpack connector .... probably this last "supplier" was doing a poor job of quality control on the soldering.

I measured the old one, got a larger wattage of the same value, fixed for less than the price of the stamp and less time to put it in a box and take it to the P.O.

My original from them lasted all of 6 months and probably less than 1000 miles. Hope the CLB is better.
