Default Replacing / Changing stock fog lights?

Hey all. One of my foglights have been out and i'm not liking it!

I don't like the ugly stock "yellow" lights, anyone find a different direct replacement?

I have clear bulbs in my car. My fog lights are white light. Maybe the bulb comes in clear or yellow coated?

I'm not entirely sure, they're the stock ones. I'm looking for a direct replacement that isn't stock...something that would be more of a blue hue .

You guys have any suggestions or thoughts otherwise?

According to this thread Toshiba HIR bulbs are the brightest. I don't Know if they make one specific to our fog lights, anybody know?

What about calling the PIAA Representatives? I have stock fog lights, translated that means I have useless "additional clearance lights" that would not illuminate a Bats *** in the dark.

Corvette Engineers never really DROVE their product you know....

But I would like to replace mine also... with something that actually lights up the road...

885 bulbs are supposed to be a good cost effective upgrade to the stock bulbs. I'm curious about the HIRs also if they come in that size...

Skip the PIAA and install HIDs in the stock projector fog lights You will have so much better lighting you will not believe the difference.

Do a search on General for HID Fogs and you will find tons of satisfied conversions. About $80 shipped off ebay

They do not make a 800 series bulb. Go HID

Default corvette mods HID

Corvettemods.Com
they have a great HID kit that gets rid of ugly/dim bulbs. I just did a full HID conversion from them, but I also replaced my main headlight assembly and the results are outstanding coverage;way better than any xenon kit or bulb you could just throw in, IMHO.

To those that have installed HID kits to replace their fog lights...any issues with heat buildup? F bodies are known for HID kits melting the housings...just wondering.

Default heat

The digital-ballast that I received from "corvette mods" do not exert heat, but the small resistor does. With that said, there is only one small resistor for the entire system: lows (left & right ), highs( left & right), and fogs (left & right) are all maintained with the one resistor, and it is very easy to mount to a piece of metal.

Who sells them? One of mine is out right now and thought I should go ahead and do both and get fresh bulbs.
