A4 tranny cooler instal ?
For those that have installed the B & M cooler. The directions call to install the cooler after the radiator on the return line. Which is the return line, upper or lower fitting?
Thanks for the help.

Yes, and take that to the lower input on your cooler, the thinking is that the flow in should be on the bottom so air is forced out and you get the max cooling.
Also, look at running the hoses under the radiator, more room there. And, lastly make sure you use a real high temp hose or steel braided line. Even if you are in the acceptable temp range on a hose it could still fold a little when hot.

3 Options:
1) Run from transmission to radiator, to cooler, back to transmission
2) Run from transmission to cooler, to radiator, back to transmission
3) Run from transmission to cooler, back to transmission
I've seen postings in the past from folks on this forum and all three of the above have been tried at one time or another.
If you are in a really warm climate, and never run the car when it's cold / cool, perhaps you can get by with #3.
If you will be starting & running the car when it will frequently be cool or cold, I suggest investigating using either option 1 or 2.

If I understand what you are saying I should run the transmission fluid line that is coming from the transmission to the radiator straight into the B & M, out the B & M and back to the transmission? Skip the radiator completely and plug up the inlet and outlet?

Installed Took longer than I thought. Ended up taking more apart than the instructions say you need too but think it went well anyway. I did plumb it in series with the radiatior for now. Seems to be 10-20 degrees cooler so far and at one point is was 30 degrees cooler than the coolant temp. Will wait a couple of weeks plumbed like this and then decide if I want or need to replumb. I will post pictures as soon as I can. Thanks for all the help everyone. Allen

I'm doing this as well. How did you mount the cooler? What hardware did you use? Did you just use those deals you push thru the condensor to mount it "piggyback" style?

Please do not use the garbage hose B&M packs with their coolers and get some braided SS lines.
Trust me. I am all too familiar with transmission fluid.
