Default Electrical Gremlins???

Ok, here's the deal. On my way home I get a tonneau ajar message on my DIC. Then trunk ajar. Then the lights go on, followed by every message you could think of coming up on the DIC as well as all the warning lights on the dash lighting up. The temp guage pins itself and all the other guages zero out. One by one they clear out. I reset all messages, but the traction control light is still lit and the service engine soon light is still lit. Park the car and try to re-start. Nothing. walk in the house, then the alarm goes off. Now for my question. Where the hell do I start. I think I will disconnect the battery for a while then reconnect and see what happens.

Start by looking at the battery connections themselves and see if they were clean and tight. Then pull the codes, although I'll guess you'll see a bunch of them. If so, write them down anyway, then clear them and try to restart. Check codes again.

Been there don all of that!!!

Recommendations:

1. Examine the passengers foot well carpet and area around the Body Control Module ( BCM )

Look for dampness or water. If the BCM gets wet or even damp, it can and will cause these problems.

2. Passengers and drivers door wiring harness. If the passengers or drivers door wiring harnesses have bare wires, they can short and cause this very issue. The wires that short is commonly the serial data wire.
