Default Anyone have a K&N filter #

No one locally even lists a K&N filter available for my 00. Is that right? What are you guys using? Something from another application with the same size or is this just my small town stores not listing it available?
Was hoping to try the "Flip Tie" mod this weekend. I seems as good as any.

Thanks,

Chris.

If you don't mind ditching the stock airbox, you can buy a conical filter that attaches right to your MAF, that is more effective than the drop-in type. It's K&N PN is RF-1042. About $45. Basically, it's a Blackwing, for about 1/4 the cost.

Check the CF classifieds (use search) for some recent good deals on new/used K&N filters. They're regularly on EBAY as well...

Go to any vette vendor and have it shipped overnight; you'll have it tomorrow am.

If you want one I have one that I was going to use on my C-5, but got a Vararam instead. Let me know, it's still in the original box with decals and instruction sheet.

Thanks guys. I decided to start calling around town again, this time using the k&n # instead of asking for a filter for an 00 vette. This time advanced auto said they could have it here tommorrow morning. Yesterday, a guy there told me it wasn't even available???

Anyway, I'm going to try the flip tie mod tommorrow night. I let everyone know how it goes.

What size MAF are we talking about here that this will work with? Wonder if it'll work for my 99...

I run a K&N filter with a Z06 airbox lid. I also added a smooth coupler and larger air bridge. Looks stock, yet gives a good improvement in flow for a reasonable cost.

I do the same combo. I have drilled some 1/4 inch holes in the cover as well for some extra breathing room. Works good!
