How long did your bilstein sports last?
I know this is a "it depends" question-and the only way to tell for sure is to pull them out and check them. My OEM shocks (FE1 suspension) were gone by 65K miles. One of the rear shocks was making all sorts of noise. So I replaced them with Bilstein Sports.
My car now has a little over 130K miles now, so another 65K on the shocks. I run Z06 springs now and am wondering if its time to change the shocks again. I need to get my alignment done sometime soon, so figured it might be a good time to change them again. I drive over some rough roads going to and from work. I know the Bilsteins can be revalved, but I think it costs $100 each one to do, at that rate its cheaper just to buy new ones.
Has anyone had to change out their Bilstein sports?

Hmmmm.... now that's a good point... although I was thinking about using this as an excuse to buy Koni FSD's...
Looks like they need a receipt, I really doubt I'm gonna be able to find my receipt:

IMO shocks should be changed every 50k or sooner on a Corvette. Sounds to me as if you got your monies worth from this set. I have C6 Z06 shocks and I am very happy with them. Good luck picking your new set.

how to replace shocks
can someone point me in the right direction on changing my shocks. i have a 98 recentlly purchased and road bumps, even small ones feel like they are going to kill me.
i heard about jacking "pucks", are these neccessary, if i decided to take my car in to get installed shocks, do i have to worry about where to take it as far as proper corvette handling?
any advice, especially tech tip will be appreciated

3 weeks! I switched back to my z51 shocks after I realized that the bilstein sports are the exact same size (length) as the stock z51s only valved different (stiffer) yes, I also measured them while compressed.
I found that after lowering on stock bolts w/front bushings removed the car was on the bump stop of the shock once that thick rubber bushing was replaced with one 1/2 its size the car rides great!
Over a year now with no problems what so ever.
