Default Breathless Performance Non-Pop Up Headlights

I've had the Breathless Performance non-pop up headlights on my C-5 about eight months. They look good, but in a word, the light they put out is awful. I've spoken to Breathless, and they tell me there must be a problem with the way they were installed or the way they are adjusted. The high beams do absolutely nothing. I've adjusted time and time again, and get one of two results:
1. Bad lighting
2. Bad lighting plus oncoming traffic flashing their high beams at me.

Is it just me, or has anyone else experienced the same thing? Does anyone know if there are there any more powerful headlamps that can used to replace what Breathless gives you? Does anyone have any experience with the Breathless HID set up? I hate to throw good money on top of bad, but if solves the problem, I guess I'll have to do it because the current situation in intolerable.

Make sure and readjust them to point to the ground.

Well, I won't be much help since my HID version is in the living room waiting on parts (and does not seem to want to fit my car) :mad but I can ask a couple of questions (since the instructions basicly suck). Did you get the relay to keep the low beams on when the high beams are on? Those pencil driving beams would be worthless by themselves :( . Also, I would set them at 1" down at 25' since they are only about 26" off the ground (3" would only be 216'). You also might try crossing them a little. Let us know what you find out... Note: if you did not get the relay, you can use 2 diodes and a 4000uF cap to do the same thing...

I have the non pop-up in my C5 from BP. I bought the kit more for look.
But you're right, the high beam sucks...

But I'm not using a lot the car in places that need a lot of ilumination, so I just fine with the low beam!!

Thanks a lot - I'll take your suggestions. I did get the relay hence the low-beams do stay on when engaging the hi-beam.

Incredible looking car!
Do you have any other pictures? I'd love to see them. Am particularly interested in the ground effects package and rear wing.
I have a 2001 Magnetic Red convertible with Corsa Indy / Daytona Tips, a Delco/Mongoose 400SS package. An article was done on the car in the August edition of 'Vette Magazine (title - Simply The Best)

Thanks,

I love them. The light it puts out is also considerably brighter than stock. I bought them used so I don't know exactly what version I have. Installation is tricky but not impossible.

I bought mine for looks as well and I had the same results as far as light output. Low beam MAY be the same as stock and the high beam sucks. I usually just use my PIAA lights for driving.

Yeah vettvert the installation is real tricky. The trick is to get someone else to put them in for you!

Here is a picture with my BPP Headlites in my sig.

This has been my concern, hence the only reason I've not bought them. I keep getting mixed reviews for lighting--some say they are great and others not worth squat. Certainly, shining through acutely angled covers isn't going to help any lighting system. There must be better lights to put behind the plastic.

We have since 5 months switched to a new higher output high beam. They are more on the oval shape. The area to work with on the C5 gave us problems in the size and shape of the light that could be used, the new high beam does fit and produces a better light pattern.

Thank You
Ernie

I had a shop do the installation, and they told me the hardest part was getting a match on the mag red paint. I did not get the impression that it otherwise was a major issue.

Can I purchase the new Hi-beams by themselves, & if so, how much would they run?

I just had the BBP lights installed on my vette. I am hoping they are going to be better then the factory lights.
