Default New shock absorbers on Z51 suspension

Im thinking of replacing my stock shock absorbers (I believe they are the Sachs gas-charged monotubes) on my Z51soon. Anyone got any reccomendations on which shocks to go with? I wouldn't mind the ride being a little more stiffer than stock. This car is a daily driver though!

C6 Z06 are a nice upgrade. they are a direct fit replacement.
Best price is from Gene Culley at GMpartshouse.com
I think he had them for under $230 for the set of 4 in his August specials....

I am using Bilstein Sports. They are fine with Z06 springs and sway bars.

I have a 01 with z51 package and I replaced my shocks with the Bilstein HD shocks and love them. I read too many threads that said the c5z,c6z and Bilstein sports were too firm for some daily drivers or weekend cruisers (esp. among the more "mature" drivers). The treads were mostly by members that did not race and were concerned with interstate comfort or verbal spousal abuse but they wanted more performance out of their base or z51 ride. The HD are SLIGHTLY firmer than the z51shocks (with only 30K miles) and are perfect all around shock IMO. They absorb the bumps much better than stock and the overpasses on interstates are more controlled less bouncing. They handle the curves better than the z51 did. I also installed the z06 front bar with 4 aluminum endlinks + poly swaybar bushings. It is not harsh at all and handles much better than stock.

I still have my Z51 springs but changed to a Hotchkis
swaybar kit with C6 Z06 shocks and the ride is very comfortable. But, and there's always a but, u have to try for yourself, what's comfy for others may not be 4u

Default C6 Z06 Works

I have C6 Z06 shocks on my '99 FRC (Z51). Bolt right in, great ride/handling. If you go this route make sure you get 2008 C5 Z06 rears, they improved them for '08.

Have them on my 02 Z and love them! Cant go wrong with this up grade! If you already have the Z51 suspension, the C6 ZO6 shocks will complement your car very nicely. The ride will be firmer but not rough! Genes got the best price and best service!!

If the 08's are improved,,order them!!

10.4 guys. But isn't it true that you can't lower your C5 on stock bolts with C6 ZO6 shocks? I think I read that somewhere.

Not to sound like a wisea##, but do you mean 2008 C6 ZO6 sways, not 2008 C5???

I'm thinking of doing the same thing myself.
