Something Humming/running Under My Seat
Last night I parked my 99 and was sending a phone text, radio on (low), key out of ignition. Heard a humming noise but thought it was coming from outside. Turns out that, I am guessing the bladder pump or whatever is right under the front of the seat and in a bag was just running on and on. The bladder bags didn't work when I bought the car and I was going to look at it when I remove the seats to put new leather on.
I moved the to lumbar switch forward and it turned off and when released it turned on again. I was able to unplug the seat and it stopped and saved my battery.
So now is it the switch assembly bad? Some computer modular? All the above? Can the pump be unplugged and still have the seat memory function?
What should I start with? Any help would be appreciated.

The lumbar and the other seat control switches should NOT function with out you moving the switch. So,,,,,I would have to say, the switch is bad. This is a COMMON cause of a dead battery.

I had a hum in my 2000 and it was a leaky bolster in my sport seat. I pulled the fuse and it stopped, and my battery drain went back to normal. The seats still worked fine.

Is there an independent fuse for the bladder pump? I can only assume that is what it is located directly under the front seat in what feels like a plastic bag? Is there a connector to this pump that can be disconnected and still let the seat functions work?
Thanks for the help

There is an independent fuse; I'm not near a book so I do not remember which one. It is in the passenger floor fuse box though. I tried a connector first and that disabled everything else.

If you pull the fuse for the air pump the rest of the seat controls will not work on the drivers seat....It kills all power to the seat...What I found was from moving the seat back and forth the wires in the harness became pintched since the wire harness holder is right under the seat track so I removed the holder from the harness and the pump stopped comming on and I just left the wire under the seat have not had any problems since....But I probably need to replace that little section of harness or open the harness up and seperate the wires and tape them....Also I cleaned the switchs with contact cleaner...There was a thread on here that said someone had also had a leaking top and water got into the switch causing the same type of problem.....Fleabay has the switch for about 100 bucks if you want to replace it also....Hope this helps....

Had the same problem on my 2K Vert and pulled the fuse. It's in the fuse panel under the passenger floor board. Your owners manual will tell you which it is. I'm the only one who drives the car, so the seat is where I want it and I don't need the adjustments. Moisture can get into the switch by having the door open in the rain, bad design.

There are feedback circuits built into the seat controls. Clean the seat connector(s) pins. This will take care of a lot of issues like this excepting the stuck switch scenarios.
