Re: TECHS....passenger door lock trouble?!?! (Ram Air Tony)
If the door lock only functions in one direction, more than likely the door control module in that door (1 in each door) took a dump...very common :yesnod: ...Faulty door lock actuators are NOT common :nonod:

THis problem started to happen recently on mine, except it is the driver's side lock. Also the driver's lock will not auto unlock when the car is parked after driving it.

My drivers door does not auto lock or power lock, its the switch that needs to be replaced. I have not had time to do it and don't trust the dealer they will probably screw up the door panel. I am going to try to get the switch from the dealer for free (because the car is under warranty) and install it myself.

Re: TECHS....passenger door lock trouble?!?! (Ram Air Tony)
If it operates in only 1 direction, with the fob or switch, the door control module in that particular door would be the culprit :yesnod: ...Next time it acts up,listen for the door control module clicking when pressing the switch...If it is clicking and it aint working,That is a telltale sign of a faulty door control module :yesnod:and yes,at times it can be intermittent...

TECH....sometimes it works and sometimes it doesnt.....but it still works occasionally......so it works both ways SOMETIMES....so is it the actuator or the control module ... or something else???
thanks :)

Re: TECHS....passenger door lock trouble?!?! (Ram Air Tony)
I used to have such problems until one day back in May I lost all control on the passenger door (i.e. no windows, no powerlock and no side mirror). I also had a message in the DIC that said NO COMM RDCM (Right Door Control Module). Took it to the dealer & turned out that it is just a lose wire. No problem ever since.
RAT, check the DIC & see if you would get any historical error codes.

Re: TECHS....passenger door lock trouble?!?! (C-5 TECH)
Would you or anyone know why on my 98 the #1 remote works, but the #2 doesn't. I've checked the battery, and tried to resynchronize it by pressing and holding the lock and unlock. Any help would be appreciated .

Re: TECHS....passenger door lock trouble?!?! (C-5 TECH)
Definately the door control module...Pop off the door panel and it is right there...
pjazz....I got no idea, but I bet C5TECH does :)
Rang.....now if I can just convince a dealer to order it without keeping my car, I will be good to go .... looks like we got some busted up DCM's
thanks !!
