Default Best place to buy new Tire Pressure Sensors?

I have a 2000 and it seems like one of them is not working. Rather than replace the battery, I will probably just replace it or replace all 4.

I read tire rack had them for $180 for a set of 4 but can't find them on the site.

Anywhere else to get them?

Thanks.

Talking about tire pressure sensors - is there any link or any info that a tire person can use for getting runflats off rims - especially (my) magnesium rims?

Does the tire need to be fully removed from the rim to fit the sensor or can just one bead be broken?

I had a nightmare happen yesterday (dealer ruined one mag rim fitting a sensor; problem will be resolved 100% in my favor) and the next person that touches my tire/wheel will have me looking over his shoulder and chirping in his ear.

You will not find tire pressure sensors for under 350 unless they are used for a 2000 corvette. ANYWERE

It is possible to break the bead on the sensor side , remove the old sensor and install the new one. You do NOT need to remove the tire to replace the sensor.

Here is a late model sensor mounted to the rim:

Here is a late and early sensor. The late model one is smaller on on the left:

The tire bead only has to be broke on one side less than half the circumference of the tire to allow the technician access to the sensor. The wheel does not have to be rebalanced. Costco took less than ten minutes to replace the sensor. America’s tires told me they would have to completely remove tire and rebalance at about $40.00 a tire.

Why would a person have to buy new nuts for the sensors?

Good question.

I have replaced at least 1 sensor myself. Easy job, break down valve side of tire, remove nut then sensor. As the manuals would say, installion. Reverse the removal . You don't need the nut unless you the old one in removal. If you use a deep 6 pt metric socket you won't need the nub, but I would have an extra just incase of teh .

Do replace the o-ring.

Go to schrader's website and you will see the manufacturer says never put them back on with the old set of hardware to include the nut. I myself would listen to them. If GM said it maybe not.
