Default Question for C5 owners who have installed WCC ZO6 screens

My first impression after doing a "dry run" of inserting the screens in the openings to see how they would look, is that there's not enough tape to hold the units in tightly and evenly....

Before I start "over engineering" this simple installation, ........I'd sure like some feedback from members who have already installed the screens! Is more tape actually needed??

IF you went beyond the supplied tape, what'd you do and how?

Thanks for any feedback.....

Default Use Velcro

Throw the tape away.
Go to Wal Mart and get the Industrial Strength Velcro.

I know there is a write up in the tech section.

I stuck the loop side to the car first.

Then used some wax paper in between the two velcor parts

Lined up and puled the paper out.

They will be there until you are ready to take them off.

Hope this helps.

I used the industrial strength velcro also. They've been on for almost 3 years now.

Default Screens

Good idea on the Velcro. I used the 3M tape and I haven't had any problems. They have been on my car for about 2yrs.

IF I'm understanding you correctly, it sounds like you velcroed the top and bottom of the plastic frame, or did you place velcro in other places also?.

Thanks.....

You didn't add tape to any other places?? It just seemed like it would need to be attached in more areas than just the bottom and one side...

Very interesting.....
Thanks again..

Velco has two sides that make it stick.
One side is called the loop side ( rough )

The other is soft and fuzzy.

Both sides has a stick glue, when applied you can't get it off.

So the loop is stock to the car.
The fuzzy side to the screens.

Does that make sense ?

Gee I can't type this afternoon.

Instead of stick I meant sticky.
And the loop is stuck to the car. ( not stock.

Still at work, Sorry

Now I understand!!! I was thinking you were using the word "loop" to refer to a area/spot inside the front driving light opening where you attached the velcro!!

One last question: Did you attach your velcro strips only in the same locations as the original 3M tape, or did you add pieces to the top and other side that were bare??

Many thanks for all your help!!
