Default a/c belt

I found out where the squeak is coming from. The air conditioner belt slipped right off the pulley by hand. Now is there an easy way to replace it without tearing the whole front end apart? Any suggestions????

If you remove the main belt, you should be able to sneak it on and then put the main belt back on.

Since you have to remove the main serpentine belt, I'd recommend you get both a new A/C belt and new serpentine belt and replace both at the same time.

You should also check the belt tensioner. If it has gone South, you will not get a belt to stay on. I'm not talking about the pulley, but the tensioner arm pivot.

should take you 20 minutes max.
the hardest part is the blind routing of the serpentine belt. make sure you have that correct or you will quickly chew up the replacement.

the only issue with the A/C belt is the spring tension on the tensioner...
most people are convinced the replacement belt is too short when all it takes is a bit more leverage on the tensioner bolt via a socket and wratchet or breaker bar with a knuckle fitting....
I found you need the knuckle because of the tight space

good luck
Rich
