Default LS2 timing chain in LS6

ok, this G5X3 swap is adding up fast, so far i'm $1300 in parts

but yea, this is the final piece of the puzzle. What would I need to get an LS2 chain in my Z? Is it a direct replacement?, I was worried about maybe the sprockets are different also and may need to be doing some modifying. I work at GM, so I preferred to use GM parts since I get it at cost instead of buying some kit. is it possible?

LS2 chain is a direct replacement for the LS6 chain.

LS2 chain here, very nice piece and well worth the $33!!! Used my stock LS1 sprockets.

Me too .....but I would supplement this with the chain dampner. If it is a pre '04 ls6 block , you need the dampener out of the GM Performance parts catalog. FWIW, I too used the 04 LS6 and later Ls2 chain (same) on the stock previous LS6 sprockets.

If fact, I found that my 04 LS1 came with the LS2 timing chain in it when I did my heads and cam. Direct replacement, shouldn't be an issue.

the LS2 has superseded the LS1/6 chain; I've used the LS2 chain many times on cam swaps
