ARE Corvette: 9.83 @ 147.54 !!!!
Just got off the phome with Nick who is at the RT66 event in Chicago. First pass off the trailer with the Corvette it went 9.83 @ 147.54.
60' was 1.59 and 1/8th MPH was 114. Do the math, lower 60' = lower 9's!
This vette runs through the stock cats and exhaust. No skinnies and full interior. No weight removed.
Congrats to the ARE boys!

Last I heard, Doug Rippie made a 10.90 pass but that was it. Don't know how LPE and others are doing.

That's awesome!
I was at ARE when Nick and Wade were loading up the vette, beautiful car. The guy who did the cage did a great job, its not very noticeable and even the roof still fits in the back.
9.83 @ 147.54 and Wade said he won't give it all unless he has to
Good job guys!

I was at the show today with my 'lowly' h/c car. I pulled a 12.5 at 121 MPH!!!!! COLD AIR RULES!!!!!!! I will scan my slips on Monday at work and post them, the temp was 53 deg and the track was good!!!! That time was with a crappy 2.3 60 foot time. Best of all, I made three passes in my vert and not one hassle even though I was in the mid 12's in a vert. I think all the bitchin helped!!!! VERY small crowd, lots of the tuners were disappointed with the turn out and some were no shows. See ya.

I saw the 9.83 pass it was great.
Car cut an easy 1.59 and just flew down the track. Wade still
has stock 17's up front. He even still has the AC on the car.
I had dinner with the ARE crew, and Nick and the guys are
very happy.
C5 MN aka Dennis went 10.4 on a pass I don't know anymore
details.
The cars running in the tuner shootout are:
ARE C5 (Wade) - 422ci, direct port
C5 MN (Dennis) - 427 C5R, direct port
Breathless - dunno
Velocity, dunno
PTC, A4 blown?
I know that Velocity is combating clutch problems.
You all should come out tomorrow, what are you doing.
They are running three more qualifiers:
10am
11am
12noon
Then running finals around 1pm
Go ARE!
John
ARE 418ci (same specs as Wade's car)

Re: ARE Corvette: 9.83 @ 147.54 !!!! (Pro Stock John)
I was there today and just missed seeing ARE. I went over to their trailer afterwards and talked a lil about their setup. I was told that the car is somewhat detuned. They have it jetted for around 200. So there is MUCH more left in the engine. Great looking car and it did not give much of a hint to its power (not stripped at all). My bet is on them taking the cake tomorrow. I will most likely be there again too.
I ran my daily driver c5 and it did better than I thought it would. 11.75@122.83 (with 2.73 gears  )

I saw the pass and it was awesome. THat is one bad **** C5 It is my understanding that the car is an A4 with ARE's beefed up A4 Racing Tranny.

Thats what I thought. Does ARE have a six-speed car, C5 or F body, that fast? That was a great run, but do it in a six speed and I'll be impressed...

Re: ARE Corvette: 9.83 @ 147.54 !!!! (SW)
Easy boys and girls. Let's all stay friends here. :D
SW, my car is probably the closest ARE C5 with a MN6 and I've retired it for the season. Can't afford to fix it if I break it at the moment. Car is at home, I am in Canada working. I'll start taking it to the track in Tejas next spring.
Wade's car is definitely an A4, SW. While I appreciate what you're saying about racing an MN6 car, (having one myself), that car is still the faster car at the moment and it sounds like it may have more to go, I think. Will be interesting to see what they can do with it tomorrow.
How are things going in Vegas? Are you showin' them who's boss out there with your Supra? We are rootin' for ya!
I heard the Breathless car broke the rear end and then, when fixed, was having clutch problems. Those guys brag about having 850-900 hp or something like that but we've never seen it going down the track. They do definitely get credit for showing up though....Joliet is a long long way from Florida.
I'll be doing some breaking drivetrain parts when I get started again too, I guess. :D
It's too bad the other tuners didn't show. MTI, Hennessey, Cartek, all the West Coast tuners. Someone screwed up I think.
Way to go Wade and Nick. Wade I know it was probably hard cutting up your interior for the roll cage. You'll get used to it though Bud. Good luck tomorrow.
SW let us know about Vegas.
