Would the diffrerence in price be due to the fact that you only get the pulley? I was thinking that you got the spacers(?) and dust sheilds(?) when you ordered the GM piece. If anyone knows chime in. I'm needing one now too.

Glad to see this post as I think I am now having this problem. Have 2 vettes but never heard this sound before. Gets faster with acceleration; no problem in performance.
Naive question: is this a signal for an imminent failure or an annoyance that can be addressed after driving 40 miles?
Thanks!

GM parts (pulley) come with spacer, dust shield and new bolt. PARTS of America sent the Factory Air Idler Pulley, which is NOT the a/c idler pulley.. They do not carry an a/c idler pulley.. Factory Air is a Brand Name.. Is that messed up or what?

go direct to GM, www.gmpartshouse.com
the a/c pulleys(2 of them, 1 on the tensioner), are identical, they run about $30 shipped
then you have a the main belt tensioner, $50 and the idler puller below the p/s pump, $20
