250 to 275 mptank if I take it easy. That's 13.8 mpg to 15. That with a mostly stock coupe and A4. Stock tires too.

You may want to rephrase the question as "How many miles per 7/8 tank" or to be safer "How many miles per 3/4 tank"?

Newer fuel pumps use gasoline as a cooling solution and it's incredibly hard on them to run down to empty. I couldn't tell you how many cars we got into the shop with a fried fuel pump after they were ran out of gas.

*As a side note you can typically get one or two more starts out of a damaged pump by smaking the fuel cell with a rubber mallet or giving it a good kick - it jars the pump just enough to get things moving again.

Either way, miles per gallon or miles per tank full...... mileage SUCKS !!
And I was considering putting a cam in this thing....

And I like my '98 coupe because I can get close ro 350 a fillup because the SUV and van I had been driving were a lot less and not nearly as much fun. Unless I drive an econobox (which I won't do), I won't get better mileage, and certainly won't from a Lexus, Mercedes, BMW etc. On the highway I routinely get 31.5 - 32.0 mpg and that's not even remarkable. A lot of "economy" cars that advertise higher mileage than this do not get what they claim and the fun factor is nonexistent.

If ya need someone to get ya out from under that gas guzzler cheap, just let me know.

I get around 13 - 14 mpg in the city. It is so crowded here I no longer take my car on the highway because of debris, so I drive it really hard around town if circumstances allow me to. When the car was new, I drove it to work for 6 months as it was my only car and that gave me a combined 20 - 21 mpg. I was astounded. I took it across Alligator Alley and it averaged 26 mpg hwy, including gunning it about 4 times each way up. 1997 C-5 -Allen

Is it a coupe or Z06? Can't quite be sure in the avatar. Wheels are like Z06, but was wondering if it was just the wheels or all Z06.

I get 15 MPG around town. I thought that was low, but the average MPH was showing only 30. Amazing how sitting a lights and speeding up and slowing down lowers the average MPH.

There is no way a C5 gets 18mpg arround town like they advertise...i don`t care if you shift from 1-st to 4-th and take off like an old lady YOU WILL NOT GET 18mpg period

Your statements says it all 13-16mpg in the CITY and no more than 240-260 miles per tank.

All due respect, I wholeheartedly disagree.

My 2001 convertible used to average 22-23mpg in Houston city traffic as my daily driver during the first 3 years of ownership - and I purchased the car new. On road trips I would average 30-31mpg highway. The Corvette has one of the best fuel management systems around.

I have since modified the car substantially and now only get about 17 in town and 25 on the highway. If the vette is only getting 16mpg or so and has not been modified there is definitely something wrong with the car.

It is true that I don't drive my '98 hard in town because traffic is so heavy, but even at 86,000 miles I still average over 18 mpg. With mixed freeway and in town I have averaged over 21. On the interstate at constant 70 - 80 mph, I average over 31, and my car isn't anything special. There are others who average another 5% higher than I do. Less than 15 mpg in city driving is worth taking a look at tuning.
