Can it be used on a ragtop? Have this bug spot on my top i can't get off. Any ideas?

try an upholstery brush to gently rub it out. soak with warm water and try the brush.

It works for me, But wash it off after using it with car soap and water, and like they said works well on tar too.

I just pour gasoline and rock salt onto my car. Then I let it sit for about 4 minutes. Just as the gas starts to evaporate, us a real "mild" steel wool and scrub the paint in a circular motion. Be sure to wash the car with soap and water afterwards to remove any steel fibers that were left behind.

a little gas on a rag breaks it up in seconds. just wash that area after it's done. ( we've all spilled gas on our cars and the gas station and forgot to clean off the drops)

WD 40 is fine to use on paint. It will remove any wax/sealer on in that area though. This includes Pinacle, Wolfgang, Zaino and any other type of protectant you may have put on the car. Re-wax the area you used the WD 40 on and you're good to go. I've done this before without any issues.

Im now gonna leave all the bugs on the front of my car just to see how bad it can actually look after a couple months and easily wash them off with warm water and soap.

Lacquer thinner and sand works good too.
Guaranteed to remove those pesky bwugs and anything else on the fiberglass. The 'circular motion' is the best too.
Makes a good window cleaner too.

Works fine for bugs and spraying fishing lures, just don't think you can use it to lubricate or protect anything.

my problem was pine cone sap, it was like glue. when it turned hard it was like cement, just looking at it i knew clay barring would damage the paint. first i tryed a very hot rag and let it sit, that didn't work. i looked at a can of brake cleaner than came to my sinces.

Invisible Glass made by Stoner is for love bugs and any type of grease or oil on your car finish. After I wash the car I wipe the car down with a cloth with the IG and it comes out GREAT try it. Good Luck

It's only fish oil and works really good on asphalt that gets on the car.

WD-40 attracts fish. Spray a LITTLE on live bait or lures and you will be catching the big one in no time.
Also, it's a lot cheaper than the chemical attractants that are made for just that purpose. Keep in mind though, using some chemical laced baits or lures for fishing are not allowed in some states.
Use it for fire ant bites. It takes the sting away immediately, and stops the itch.
WD-40 is great for removing crayon from walls. Spray on the mark and wipe with a clean rag.
Also, if you've discovered that your teenage daughter has washed and dried a tube of lipstick with a load of laundry, saturate the lipstick spots with WD-40 and re-wash. Presto! Lipstick is gone!
If you sprayed WD-40 on the distributor cap, it would displace the moisture and allow the car to start.
WD-40, long known for its ability to remove left-over tape mung (sticky label tape), is also a lovely perfume and air freshener!
Sprayed liberally on every hinge in the house, it leaves that distinctive clean fresh scent for up to two days!
It removes black scuff marks from the kitchen floor!
Use WD-40 for those nasty tar and scuff marks on flooring. It doesn't seem to harm the finish and you won't have to scrub nearly as hard to get them off. Just remember to open some windows if you have a lot of marks.
Bug guts will eat away the finish on your car if not removed quickly!
