Default L92/L76 402 Project

We start assembling an LS2 402 for my C5 this weekend. We have all the parts now.

SDPC LS2 402 2cc pistons
L92 heads - milled for 12:1 SCR
L76 Intake
Comp 921's
Bret Bauer cam spec'd for my setup
Rams Dual disc clutch and Flywheel
American Racing 1 7/8 headers
42 lb Green Top injectors
Revised Cadillac Racing lifters - Good for 8k RPM
etc
etc
etc
Assembly/Installation and SD tune by Phil Thomas aka PHIL97SVT

Should be very interesting and make some stout numbers and be sweet on the street.

I don't really care what static compression is. Dynamic - DCR - is much more important. We'll be up around 8.8-9.0 DCR. SD tuning will take care of any issues.

Aren't most specs quoted as static? I.E. my car has 10.5:1 and the LS2 is 10.8:1 etc?

They are but with cam and head changes, DCR becomes much more important and is controlled by valve events.

With only 7 plug wires?

I'm curious as to the cam specs, can you give us a idea?

I talked to a lot of people about a cam for this setup...A few even knew what they were talking about.

Bret Bauer of Bauer Racing came up with a design that will give me what I want. I'm looking for numbers pretty even in RWHP and RWT with a lot of both. Both should be well north of 500.

It's SDPC....lol

Just messing with ya. I just bought a 402 from them also, and in about 6 hours I am off to take my car to TSP to get it put in. Have you not gotten it dyno tuned yet? Just saw it hasn't yet been assm. Goodluck with it, any idea what it will put down? Are you shooting for any certain numbers?
