Default Security Light

Last night while driving home from work the security light came on. I pulled over in a parking lot turned the car off, restarted with no problem and the light was off.

Any ideas what might have caused it to come on?

Thanks!

Did the key get wet?

Clean the key (resister).

Nope, key is/was clean & dry. The light just came on after about 20 minutes of driving...

Electrical Gremlins.. Mine did this just a few weeks before the battery went dead. Replaced Battery and everything was fine. Are the two related? I don't know for sure.

Do you have the stock alarm or an aftermarket?

I had a simular problem and it was caused by the ac drain tube being clogged. Water then remained in the duct, then when making a left turn the water flowed to the passenger side and leaked out the blower motor vent. The water lands on the BCM, and some relays(anti thieft, column lock). I cleaned the vent and the water and problem seem fine.
