Default With talk of P0300.....

Could it be possible for a bad knock sensor to mimic multi misfires? Do defective knock sensors give a unique code?
Has anyone had experience with defective knock sensors and what symptoms did you have? Just thinking out loud.
Thanks....

Yes, bad knock sensors will set either a P0332 or P0337 DTC...are you experiencing a P0300 currently also ????

Typically when a knock sensor fails it will make your engine ping like crazy !! It will never just remove tons of timing and make your engine run lazy ( this is by design to let you know you ma have a bad knock sensor )
Certain engine mods can mimic KNOCK This is called "false knock" Mods than can create false knock are
Headers
Noisier aftermarket valvetrain
Many miles on the clock
Aftermarket cam
Noisy injectors or lifters
Good news is that this false knock can be 'tuned out" by desensitizing your knock tables

PS same thing goes for MISFIRES
certain mods can create "False Misfires"
headers
aftermarket balancer
higher stall converter if an auto trans
aftermarket cams
If you can't hear or feel a misfire yet you are getting misfire codes then they are FALSE MISFIRES
Again good news is that with proper tuning you can delete any false misfires as well

On a Z06 that would indicated a broken valve spring. The pressure passes through the intake and disrupts another cylinder, or three.
