Default Sound loudness from catted x pipe to offroad x pipe

So I have my long tubes and catted high flow Random tech X pipe. I could stand for it to be a little louder. If i were to remove the cats, and put pipe in that didn't have cats in it, how much louder would it be? Any?

What mufflers do you have ? I had the Corsa Pace Car mufflers and
no Cats a while back and it was just too loud and it did'nt sound right.
Now I have the same mufflers with the Hi Flow Cats and its perfect.

Yeah, no cats will really wake up your car! It gives your car a much more aggressive sound I have a sound clip of my car but I am not able to upload it in the correct format for some reason.

I was just thinking about the same thing. I just had a cam installed recently and although I think it sounds good with a nice lope I was wondering what it would be like without the cats. If I could do it without ruining my cats I'd be tempted to try it. A little motorhead coming out in my old age.

I have TPIS LT's with a Random Tech off road x-pipe, and TI mufflers, and I think it sounds great.

Thats what i have, everything the same, but Stainless Works headers. I think its a hair to quiet though. I've yet to hear it from outside of the car though.

I wouldn't mind that, except... I have to drive this car daily, and i dont want somethign i'm going to get tired of. Elec cut outs would be ok, but i really just want one tone all the time.

This seems to be a pretty common topic. Opinions range from one extreme to the other in all the threads.

I've been looking at the American Racing headers with no CATs to my stock '01Z, and I simply cannot decide on which mufflers I want. I'm 99% sold on Corsa because I do not want drone (turbo import anyone?). I love the sound of the Corsa Indys, but I am hesitant to make the jump. Loud at WOT is cool, but not just driving around. I'm thinking the Touring would be my best choice.

Any opinions about the Indys with long tubes, no cats? Compared to stock?

I have a setup of TPIS, home made X-pipe no-cats, and Corsa Pace setup and at idle there is a nice rumble, under throttle it screams and same for WOT, and at a cruise very quiet and this is with a Blower setup

Nice man, that is EXACTLY what I am looking for sound wise Really good timing on all these header and exhaust threads. Since those are exactly what I am now in the market for
