I had that happen to my girlfriends honda and all it took was a call to the dealer with a VIN or radio serial number to get the code.

Since the BCM controls the radio, if put in another car, it won't even turn on. The theftlock code is redudant.

If a stolen C5 radio was put in another C5, almost all dealers will still get the unlock code from GM for it.

I put the code in the car.... it is a number that i picked...how could the vin of the radio have anything t do with the code I put in the radio...anyway.. thanks for the replys.. I knew the code had to be something familiar.. the radio allows you to try 8 codes.// then you have to wait an hour.. funny thing is when Un locked the radio.. I finnally got it.. the radio remembered all my presets.. I lost my key fobs ( had to do a remember on them also.. )...

With me, I bought the car from a forum member, and he did not set the radio code. I believe the dealer must have. I had dealer place a call to GM to get it solved.

The TheftLock feature is a waste. More problems for owners than its worth.

If you have tried 8 times and it's locked, here's what you do...

Leave the ignition on for an hour. Follow the procedure in the manual and write down the two sets of numbers it displays. Call your dealer and they can get the "master code" for your stereo. The master code will always work even if you have set another code. Hope this helps....
