I just had this same problem. My problem was there is a short between door and car where the door wires run through the accordion tube. But it took me a few days to find that out. From the research I did these are the common problems. First off you know check your fuses. I removed the door panel and checked the door control module and door control switch with a test light using a wiring schematic in a manual I have. You might be able to find one on the internet. Mine were showing they were good. Last I would do is check all your grounds on the body. If that doesnt fix it then good luck. It was a PITA! to figure it out.
Here's a good link to remove door panels: http://www.vetteessentials.com/instr...or_handle.html

I also read to try slamming the door while you press the button down

PaPaChoc, are you from KY? I know a lady who uses "want" in place of "won't".
Anyway I also had the wires between the door and the jamb get a break.

I'm from KY and never heard it pronounced like that. Unless he's from Eastern KY.

Also, I have the same problem as you did. Did you have to replace the harness? I just found the short, but haven't had time to fix it. Let me know what you did to fix it. Thanks, Jeremy

I had extended warranty so they replaced the harness.
