MTI's RAT III has 500 hp CONFIRMED :)
Hello All
It was brought to my attention that some tuners had issues with the power that RAT III produced (not sure why  ..maybe B&B SHORTY headers and THRU cats ... still  )
So Dan and Keith at Speedworks in Lewisville (GREAT guys !!! ) offered to let me do a confirming dyno run at an INDEPENDENT shop and see what the ol RAT III would do ....... THANKS GUYS
I was damn near out of gas, pulls 1 and 2 showed 422 rwhp and 390 rwtq (MTI's dyno showed 423 and 393 :D ) so we were RIGHT on the money ..... then .... RESERVE FUEL came on  .... so Keith said.....we have some 104 unleaded  then he said he thought I would probably make more power due to some knock retard .... I said lets throw some in her
we will let the graph speak for itself again :smash:
427 RWHP AND 395 RWTQ !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! time to change the sig again ....... too the track ASAP !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 502 and 465 out of 346 c.i. .... simply killer !!!!!!!!!!!
thanks to Dan and Keith again .... and to MTI :smash: :smash:

Tony,
Congrats on your numbers. I'm sorry I didn't meet up with you guys yesterday. I really wish I had gotten my voicemail earlier and gotten over there to get some great video for the forum. I'm shooting for next weekend to check out your car and get some video, since you're out partying on the lake today. Look forward to seeing you, buddy!

Tony,
It's good to see your numbers verified by an independent dyno. I know the gents at Speedworks do excellent work. BTW, I have no financial interest in Speedworks, they did dyno my car and I've watched them work on others with the same care and expertise. Let this be a good lesson to the masses who wish to do a major mod like H/C to their cars. It's just not enough to mod the engine, but to do the whole package which includes re-flashing the engine control computers so the car does runs right. I talked to Tony at the Friday night get-together in Arlington and based on what he told me and what I saw of RAT III, MTI did the job right. They seem to know what they are doing.

How is the tip in throttle at launch Tony? Some cam grinds are a bit grumpy at low idle or launch rpms...
Did they replace the timing chain?

Re: MTI's RAT III has 500 hp CONFIRMED :) (Ram Air Tony)
thanks guys
it runs real nice at part throttle ... but I havent done any launches from a dead stop yet....well, yeah I did, but I let it come out of the whole slowly then hammered it ..... in fact, the only time ya can really tell it has had the work is when ya romp it ....
I need to drill a hole in the TB plate, which will make it idle immediately after start...
thanks

Hey Tony!
I can tell you are stoked! Congratulations!
Could be some question arose "with other tuners" if you were reporting rear wheel and "at-the-crank" numbers interchangeably. In a world where most all of us are interested in the numbers at the rear wheels, people might have doubted it if you said you had 500+HP with the package you've got if they thought you were reporting RW numbers. I read the subject field of this string, for example, and got the wrong message.
Not knocking your results in ANY way. Just trying to shed light on the mis-understanding. Just MHO.
