Trapping Oil Before Enters Air Bridge
I have a AMW catch can and it works great. I checked the inside of hose to the manifold with white kleenex and NO signs of oil.
But I checked the hose from the valve cover where it enters into the air bridge (was plumed in there because I have the LS2 throttle body) and there WAS oil there.
I believe oil is sucked from hose to valve cover vent as air passes thru air bridge. Is this correct?
Is it ok to put a filter in this line. Can it be routed thru the catch can some how??
I don't want anymore oil getting in

Howie! You can take a look at my new second generation system Saturday on the V-Dude run. If you like what you see you can copy my design and your oil problems will be solved .

Well it is probably not unusual. I think the only reason they run that line into the bridge is so it does not vent the crankcase to atmosphere. When I had the FAST/Ls2 I used the LS6 valley and the can as you have, and left the right valve cover port as a vent under the coil cover ( put a short piece of hose on it with a walnut sized filter). So the catch can is creating a vacumn and the valve cover pulls a bit of air as vent.
Worked fine. Lots of guys use a valve cover breather. Alternately, you could just leave it as is, in that the majority of the flow is going thru catch can.
For what ever all that is worth?

There is a vacumn created at the air bridge which pulls from the valve cover. The 04 valve covers have no port. GM fianally gave up on the PCV from the valve covers maybe you should too?

This just happened to me over the weekend on my H/C/Fast 90 setup. I spoke to Mike Norris who did the work and he said no problems with using a catch can on that line.

I see you found this thread. Thanks for confirming that this is a good idea.
Is that a fuel or oil filter.???

I have a 98 and the pcv system works perfectly, I use no oil between changes, ok maybe 4oz in 6000 miles, no oil in the intake or airbridge. Why did GM change it? If it aint broke leave it the flip alone. They did the same thing in 01 putting low tension rings in and creating a world of problems with oil consumption.!!!!!!!???????

I get a few teaspoons worth every 500 miles or so with the AMW can. I change my oil about every 3500 miles with no noticable drop on the dip stick.

Is the filter vented?
