A year ago, I bought my Throttle Actuator Control module from Bob at Fitchner's for about $210 shipped. He should know exactly what you're talking about, so I'm surprised to hear they don't know the part.
Good luck,
Fix
97 & 98's had some known bad TAC modules! 99 and up have an up dated module that solved the early model year issue. Here is waht is in the black box! Hope you can tell me what is wrong with it.
Bill, I think it's missing a "thingamajig"! Really, I wouldn't have a clue about what's wrong with these electronic gadgets on our C5's. Actually, I never installed the one I bought last year. I got the dreaded warnings etc. then paniced and bought one. I wanted it to happen again but it hasn't for some reason. I carry the new TAC in the back of my coupe along with some simple tools to pop the fender liner out and replace the module if needed. So far...so good though. Took a 4,500 mile trip last summer too. I'll keep it for alittle peace of mind until I decide to put it in anyway sometime when I've got the RF wheel off the car.
