I've heard it was behind the front passenger side wheel well. I believe it is located under the battery but you have to take out the black plastic material around the wheel well where it meets the rocker panel & it should be sitting right there. I'm know someone else knows the proper terms & directions! Please correct me if I am wrong... TTT

If you jack up the passengers front wheel and remove it, you will see an access panel in the rear of the plastic fender well. There are fasteners in the panel and under the car that need to be removed. Once the access panel is removed, it is clear sailing from there. The module mounted on the out outside of the PCM will be the Throttle Actuator Control Module (TAC Module) The ECU on the C5 is refered to as tha PCM (Powertrain Control Module)
There will be another module that you will some day bey very familuar with and that is the BCM (Body Control Module). There are several more (microprocessors depending on year and options: LDCM, RDCM, RFA, SCM, TCS, SDM, IPC, HVAC and Radio.

Prior to removing the PCM, use compressed air to blow away any dirt and when you reassemble the connections, use dialectric grease/compound on the rubber gaskets to prevent moisture from getting into the connections.

Also there are no eproms[chips] for C5s, although there are a plethora tuners and tuning software available.HypertechIII,Predator,Ls1edit, EFIlive,Hptuners to name the most popular...

One other thing worth noting is that it's hard to get to the back bolt for the outer retainer and then once the retainer is out you have to pull the PCM straight out, it's a tight fit and it sits in the holder square so you can't just grab it.
