Default DIC info

my light on the heat temperature controls is out. does any body know how to get it to light back up? is their a fuse to replace or is the problem more complicated???????????

If you are talking about the temp / mode display, the HVAC unit needs to be replaced. There is a place that repairs them, but you are looking at a couple weeks down time and the cost is nearly that of a new control unit from Beans or Fichtner. I did ours in our 98. It took about 1 1/2 hours. I could do it in 30 minutes now, because I have had the console off twice for other reasons. Do NOT buy one at your local stealership...order one from one of these forum vendors because you will save mucho bux. Once the console is out, it is 2 screws and plug and play.

Any advice on how to remove interior components to access and replace the HVAC control unit for those of us that have not been in that area before??

Will take you < 5 min to get at the radio and HVAC controls once you've done it once.
