Default Breathe!!

LS1 engine although computer controlled responds to basic Performance mods just like any other car. So, replace stock air box with free flow style,I have the t style with 2 K & N filters. Some folks use the blackwing and other styles that require you to cut the shroud. Replace stock mufflers with better flowing style. There are many different ones available. These 2 mods are under $1000 and will net about 20Hp but It will sound like a Corvette should. These cars stock are faster than all of my old muscle cars (GTO) that I purchased new in the 60s and should turn mid 13 sec. 1/4 mile times with these mods and still get 25-27 mpg on the highway. Go to some drag races and talk with the other owners, we have the Corvette challenge here in Florida and its a good place to see what others have done to improve their cars. Good luck.

Ok cheap mods here is what I would do.

Zip tie mod with K & N 60
Mod fog light shrouds 0

If I have 1000 to spend I would go with a vararam and jet hot long tube headers.

Default Air Intake and K&N

I got the K&N filter and did a chop on the front of the box (final cosmectics to be done) like the Z06 model. I did the hood seal with a GM part (10404247) via this thread. The hood seal can barely be seen. I can feel the difference (whether or not the hood seal helps)and the total was less the $100. I am just like you with more mods to come this winter.

Come on, you are telling me that you gained measurable rwhp from a hood seal with no other associated mods

By the way, I have the hood seal to keep the water off my Halltech

At any rate, as far a seeing a dyno sheet as evidence...that would be much like me using statistics to prove to you that storks really do deliver babies You can make some things say what you want them to say. I just do not know why you would want to "prove" this unless you sold them for a living...like selling the Tornado Fuel Saver

Default Cheap Mods for under $100

I would also add the Z06 Screens and matching rear open guards. this will add more air to the intakes and also give more flow through to your aero dynamic front. They are under $100.00 and give the front of the car a more finished look without much work on your part.

There are soo many more to list but I think you are over 100.00 already.

Best of Luck!!!

You take the cover off and use some large zipties to hold it all together. I got them at Home Depot. Here's a picture of mine.

Someone mentioned once about just adding a K&N conical cone to your MAF which to me makes a cheaper Stinger or Blackwing. Anyone done this or know the K&N filter to do it. Sounds pretty logical to me. Also, many are correct that a dyno tune will gain you some hp. I say if you are going to do this, might as well get your own tuning equipment and a wideband O2 system and do it yourself. Trust me, I knew nothing about tuning and still have a lot to learn but if you find techy things interesting this may be the better way to go. Plus, if you get serious about mods later, you can continue to tune as you grow without paying $500 each time at the dyno. That was my way of thinking and has helped me learn so much. I got 316 RWHP/338 rwtq doing my own tuning and based on my slow pre-track time of 13.9 sec, I feel I had a lot less HP before I started tuning. Plus Andy's tuner gave me a few more pointers which I have already programmed into the computer and he felt it might put me over the 320 RWHP threshhold. My 2 cents. Good luck.
