Default Supermaxx dyno results are in!

Well with just the b&b ca back and vararam intake i put down 334-345 RWHP/RWTQ. With the addition of supermaxx headers x pipe and hi flows i put down 335-349. A/F was from 12.8-13.2. I picked up 5 rwhp under the curve and 7 rwtq. So to say the least i paied 1200 buck for a really cool sound. I hope i can see the 350 rwhp i was hoping for with a tune.

Those are great numbers anyway. Considering your A/F was right about where it should be I doubt you will pick up more than 5 or 10 rwhp with a tune. I personally gained 9rwhp and 17rwtq with the dynatechs, which put me at 325rwhp/334rwtq. Your numbers look even better. Congrats!!

Unless your talking about a Z06, I find your "before" #'s with just intake and exhaust, which the exhaust probably wouldn't add much, just a little hard to comprehend! Nice #'s though, unless your driving a Z06, and then I'd say they S#$K!!!

If you have the LS6 intake and and done on a mustang dyno then the numbers are great. Some tuning will help, I believe, but not too much.
But if you go to heads and cam you will need the changes you have made - let us know the results.
Added 1 3/4" Kooks and still am stuck at 304 rwhp as without them - a puzzle to be solved.

345 tq on a stocker with a CAI and catback =

Run her at the track and check for MPH gains. I picked up 3 MPH with my Dynatechs without retuning.

call it what you will. I ran it at the track the same day we did the headers and traped the same 113MPH with and 12.29 1/4 mile time

Did you use the same Dyno for both runs?

Also, what kind of dyno did you use? (mustang/dynojet, etc)

I don't know man, nothing about your numbers or expectations seems realistic to me. 350rwhp with a cold air intake and headers seems way too much to expect. Also, your trap times seem real good for just an a4 with headers and intake and no tune after headers!

I dyno'd at 330rwhp with just exhaust and "zip tie mod" on the intake side.... I have the dyno sheet around here somewhere...

Some cars are just strangely stronger than others for whatever unknown reasons, gotta love it

I used a dyno jet. Guys im not saying im not pleased with the car. I am however suprised that i saw zero gains on the dyno and at the track. Dynoed the same traped the same, a/f is not that far off, so.....im a little suprised. Overall the car is bad *** and i couldn't be more excited. But no gains at all is kinda funny.

Your right! It is funny. Stick a cam in it, and put some ported heads on it, and if you still don't see an improvement, that would be REAL funny!

Are these numbers typical for Supermaxx and other headers? I was thinking of doing the whole header thing and was expecting more like 25 RWHP without a tune. I thought I read many other posts that said 20+ RWHP. Am I expecting to much? Very expensive mod for a few ponies!

I woundn't expect tooo much from an exhaust system. For the rpm range the LS1 is running, it's set up fairly well. Look at how much hp and tq can be added with a cam only engine. If the cam alone can add so much horse power that should tell us that the engine breathing is capible of handling more than the stock set up as it is.

Sure, there is some hp on the table for exhaust and intake but is not the treasure chest of HP... that can only come from heads & cam. When you start doing H&C, now your pushing the limits and LT headers, high flow cats, LS6 intake.... are a must.

Cat backs and LT headers can run 2k+ easy If you have an A4 ... go for a Convertor, shift kit, and tires as your starting mods.

Denny needs a tune at a minium. Probably a baby cam, AFR 205's, a stall, and then a tune.

it takes a little while for the computer to learn after putting on headers doesnt it? Was the dyno right after the install or did you drive it around awhile before redyoning?

I just put on my Dynatechs, and I know that I made some gains. The car pulls much harder, and tire spin in 2nd gear is much more prevalent. I am going to try and make it to the track Friday, and then the dyno a little later to verify. Too bad about yours though. Let's just say that you had more horsepower than you should've before the headers, and call it even.
