So what intake do you think is better for a 427? Does any one have dyno numbers?

1. The LS2 intake manifold just plain sucks.

2. The LS6 intake manifold would very likely flow nearly as well as the LSX if you could fit a larger (90mm) TB to it, but you can't.

3. This leaves the LSX as the best (and most expensive by far) show in town.

A few guys are saying the LS6 ported with a Nick Willams is just as good as the LSX 90 with Nick.

What do you guys think about the iron block vs. LS6 darton sleeved block?

Port matched LSX90 + NW 90 TB
Period.

And for the block, depends on how much money you have and what you want to do with it. Personally, the LS2 block is probably the best all around block for 400+ cid NA. It's lighter than an iron block and stronger than the LS1. It's cheaper than a Darton and C5R, and only a bit more expensive than the iron block LQ4/9.

Of course, I wouldn't put 20psi of boost or a 300 shot on it. And it won't take you up into the 440+ cid area.

The only real drawback for an NA application is the loss of the knock sensor, but honestly, who cares about that?

Does "Nick Williams" have a webpage? Where do you buy the TB at?

I'm not going to go over 14-16lbs of boost, I can't on pump gas, I would use a LS2 but I want the 427. I think the LS6 darton blocks is good for 1000 RWHP

I just don't know why people like those iron blocks, is it cost?

The intake is a hot topic on a few of the other forums.

I've been told time and time again "Nick Williams" Is the best 90mm intake. But I have been told a few times the LS6 ported intake with a ported stock TB is just as good as the "Nick Williams" when it comes to Turbo cars.

I'm still waiting to see dyno numbers, no one has any just options. There is nothing wrong with that but I want to see some hard numbers also.

If you're gonna go FI why srew around w/ 90mm TB & FAST intake.
Stock ported TB & LS6 will give you about 800rwhp at 14 lbs boost on a 427. How much more do you want ?

I think I can say I'm going with the LS6 ported intake and ported TB.

Looking at saving money with the block, LS6 Darton vs. LQ4 (Iron block) vs. LS2? What do you think? I know I've been told the LQ4 is stronger but has any one had a problem with the LS6 or LS2?

I don't think there will be a whole lot of power loss from the 402 or 408 LS2 vs the 427 LS6 darton?

What do you think. The Irion block is around $400, LS2 $750, and the LS6 Darton $2k.

What the LS2 is a 4" bore so with a 4" stroke you get what displacement? 402?

What is the math formula for finding displacement?
