I haven't read every post here, but I think I got the gist of the situation.
I'm very leery of ordering tires online from anyone ... you don't really save all that much, and you might well be stuck with them if they are bad, or at the very least, have to go to a lot of trouble to have them replaced.

I was getting close to ordering tires from them. Just shot them an email:
I am in need of new tires for my 2000 Corvette and have been perusing your website. There are several tires that I have an interest in that you offer and I am ready to purchase. I am also a regular on corvette forum.com and have just finished reading a few of the posts about your business practices. Just wanted to let you know that I will be purchasing elsewhere.
Regards, KL

I am now going to send this to our buddies at onlinetires and Toyo. I originally told the boys at onlinetires that a few thousand people would see this.
Josh, I sent the email and copied you on it. Do you have an email address for Toyo?

This is their reply today:
"Customer tires were already warranty."
I think they've been educated. They don't seem to have their original attitude.

I'm sure my purpose for starting this thread has been met. With this many views and responses, there is no doubt in my mind that online tires will think twice before offering up crappy customer service. If not then shame on them and they will likely find themselves out of business as a result. I did receive a note yesterday from them in reference to my last email asking them for a new call tag to pick up the old tires. There response here:
Thank You

Can I get a new call tag for FedEx to return the 2 Toyos to you.
Thank You

heres a bump for ya
I was tempted to buy my new rear tires online to. But I found a buddy
here in Houston who hooked me up with some Firehawks for $200.00
apiece. I had looked at onlinetires myself. I was just very leery about
buying tires on the net. I bought my new zo6 polished wheels from ebay
last month and I admit I was worried until they arrived.
They were perfect and were boxed up very well. No scratces or problems with mounting I feel very lucky after reading your post NoNeck. Btw glad it all worked out in the end. Well except for the fact
that you're out all that time and frustration over a simple swap of defective merchandise. And you dinged your front bumper cover while
searching for a remedy. Not trying to pour salt on your wounds just showing that you still lost out on this deal.

This thread has saved me the frustration of dealing with online/Toyo as I will be purchasing tires myself. I can't say enough good about Discount Tires. They just fixed a flat on my wife's vehicle and we didn't even get the tires from them! (only the rims...)
I'm going to email these clowns too.....

I just moved to the Houston area 3 weeks ago (the Woodlands). You have any good places I can go to for wheels? I'm thinking about doing chrome on the wagon wheels and would prefer to do it locally...All the wheels I see are Z06 knockoffs or majorly ka-ching$$...
thanks,

Here's my email to onlinetires:
"If what I'm reading on the CorvetteForum website thread is accurate, your customer service needs improvement. I won't take a good price from an Internet vender if there is increased risk to me after the sale. And it sounds like you run a risky business. Sorry - I won't be doing business with you for my Vette or truck."
Now for my Discount Tire plug: I've been buying from Discount Tire for almost 20 years. Great company. They fix flats on tires I didn't purchase from them (since they were on new cars) simply because I was a customer - and they do it for free! The after-the-sale service is why they get my recommendation and continued support.
And I thought a Visa card was a Visa card, even if it was a debit card too! I'll have to reconsider how I pay for some purchases.
