B2860 - Telescope Position Sensor Range

This code has been driving me crazy for a while now I even had the dealer diagnose. They said Column position sensor needed to be replaced $275.00 part plus $250 labor. They have to remove column.
I decided to deal with it and not fix
BUT THEY WERE WRONG
This is how I accidently fixed issue.
My memory functions and bolsters have been acting up and I figured it was from the bad sensor. They are all tied to the seat control module.
The other day I'm cleaning car and found a stray (orange) wire under seat that was disconnected. Then noticed my Telescopic steering wheel didn't work at all. Before it just wouldn't adjust automatically,.
So tonight I thought i pull the seat to see what's up with the wire.
I Unbolted driver seat and unplug everything and remove it from car.
I Start looking at the harness for seat. Their are two connectors one black and one blue.Connectors on seat were fine.
The Black connector harness controls position motors for seat.
The Blue connector harness controls memory functions.

Harness on floor of the car results
Black connector looks fine no issues or broken wires.
The Blue connector is another Story
The small orange wire was from that connector and another wire was falling out of the connector They were Both 20-gage wire and have to be a data signal not power.

The pin-out for Blue connector is this
A= Red 16 gage
B= Black 16 gage
C= Violet 16 gage
D= Black 20 gage
E = Orange 20 gage
F= Pink 20 gage
G= orange 20 gage
H= empty

Pin #E was the broken wire . Pin #G was falling out of connector.
I removed the stress relief from back of connector with small screwdriver. Unloaded the pin that had broken wire. and soldered wire onto pin and reinserted pin #G and #E.
My theory to the CODE B2860 is Pin E dislodged due to seat movement and caused a open or out of range reading. Then caused the B2860 HC code. When pin #G wire broke the column stopped working.
I reinstalled the seat and checked wire clearances the blue harness is tight when seat moves.I adjusted tape on harness to give it a little more play.
After time I could understand how the wire could hang and then become dislodged.
Now the easy entry works and the wheel moves like is supposed to and my lumbar bolsters even work now.

you will need a soldering iron and solder a small jewelers screwdriver. Also piece of paper to write wire diagram on for connector pin out. Better safe than sorry.
Slide the white stress relief out of back of connector slightly. You will see where retainer is held on sides of it.
Take you time the pins unload from connector from rear.
To remove pins Slide Jewelers screw driver under pin from front it will unlock so pin can be removed DO NOT FORCE.
You will need to re-bend pin retainer tang(ON PIN) to make the pin hold in connector when you reinsert.
Be careful do not force. Look inside connector from front to make sure pins are in all of the way.
Once you get seat out and see connector you will understand what I'm talking about.

Gee I wish you'd have made this post before last weekend! I replaced the telescoping switch only to discover that the telescoping function still didn't work. I haven't done a code scan yet but will have to now after seeing this post. I used the old switch harness and plugged it into the telescoping motor plug, and then tucked the wire ends underneath the cover for the air temp sensor in the dash. I use the column bypass unlock cigarrette lighter adaptor to power the motor in or out if I want to adjust the wheel position, but it would be nice if the whole thing worked like it was originally intended - my fix is pretty agricultural. Guess I'll be unbolting the drivers seat soon.
