Default Will the LS2 or LS7 Clutch work in the C5

Like most guys I have the stock clutch unit and im counting the days until it burns up. I was wondering if anyone has tried to see if the C6 clutches fit the C5 units.

Something like this can save us a ton of money. Will the clutch for the LS7, which we know produces 500HP fit our MN6 bellhousing and clutch assembly. I think something like this reseach would save us all a ton of money conpared to if the LS2 intake manifold or heads fit the ls1-6 units.

Id rather replace my exisiting clutch with a factory GM clutch that holds 500 HP ( at the flywheel) than an aftermarket clutch.

Has anyone looked into this.
I know people have looked at the heads to see if they work on the LS1-6.
I know poeple have looked at the intakes to see if they fit.

If the clutch fits , I think it would save us a ton of money instead of using aftermarket clutches

If it does, i wouldnt put to much faith into it! Heck, you have a factory clutch now, and are waiting for it to go.

Do a search...and I know for fact J-Rod has some good information on clutches. He has a thread out here somewhere on a Aussie alternative for under $1k i believe that hold power and feels good.

The point im trying to make here is that our stock clutches are for either 350 or 405 HP ( ZO6 RWHP of 360). If the stock LS7 clutch is good for 500 HP, and lets say 425 RWHP, that's enough for me even after a H/C package.

Do you see where im going with this. I know who's selling aftermarket clutchs off the forum, but that's not what im looking for. Im looking to see if anyone has looked into the C6 clutch working in the C5

Hard to guess anything about the LS7 clutch since the car or parts haven't been released yet, but I think it'll be compatible.

Deff it--I have one sitting in my office as we speak and should have it in in the next few days--I have also talked to a local company that has been manufacturing all types of clutch's including race and drag clutch's since 1911 and they want to see my exedy clutch when it comes out and are going to rebuild the twin disk with a material that will last and grab--more details later--

leaftye, thank you for reading the post and understanding what I was looking for.

The thread is not for which clutch is the best who has what clutch, and who sells the clutches cheapest.

It is, will the LS2 or LS7 clutch work in our LS1 or LS6 trannys

IM thinking the LS7 ZO6 may not work because off the additional plumbing needed for coolers if you read vette mag this month

I hadn't read the mag. Usually their articles are junk, but I'll see if I can still find that mag on the shelves. I'm hoping it'll work since it'll probably be very well priced, and it'll probably be one of the better 500 hp clutches, if not the best.

I realize all these magazines HAVE to print something every month to get us to buy it.

I get far more info off of here than the shelf at 7-11

Im sure some speed sponsor will know the answer sooner or last. I think my clutch has a while to go before replacement, But after the first mod, time is never on our side

I remember a comment by A&A Andy that the LS2 clutch looked big and excessively heavy. He changed it out.
