Sounds like a bad ground. I just read on here over the weekend about grounds being a common issue due to the unseen corrosion in the connectors. May try moving the wires on the chassis ground connectors and see if you can identify it.

I've got a ton of 12Volt eperience(In another lifetime , managed a Circuit City roadshop , first class MECP cert ) and GM's are notorious for ground problems , I've encountered this on many vehicles and it always seems to be under the dash somewhere .

I had a simliar problem with dimming headlights while operating the power windows on my '99 coupe. A couple weeks later, my battery took a dump on me. I would check the battery first. JMHO.

If it is the battery it is likely a bad connection on the battery. Would not expect that the car would start if it was going to have a noticable affect on the lights. If it seems to do it on the bumps instead of smooth ground, then I still suspect bad connections somewhere.

Default every shift

my 2003 would dim at the slighest pull of power even when auto shifted. these cars seem to be voltage hungry, battery fixed it at 7,500 miles. makes me wonder if after market high amp alternator. is not warrented
