Default DTC c1282

Anybody have any experience for the yaw sensor calibration c1282 code?
Code will set anytime I run the car at the drag strip. Dealer is stumped. They went through the diagnostic tree and couldn't find a problem. Maybe I need to find another dealer.

Any other DTCs being set? (e.g. C1281 or C1284)

Any modifications done to the car that might have moved (changed the location or orientation of) the yaw rate sensor?

There may be 2 additional characters displayed on a scan tool after the C1282 code. Did the dealer identify any additional characters? Those characters are engineering aids that are used to determine the specific criteria which caused to DTC to set.

Thanks. Car is stock except for a LoJack. The thought occurred to me that it's mouting might have done something to the yaw sensor mounting. AH works fine. No other codes set. It's only when I run up through the gears hard that I get the c1282. Looking in the shop manual it looks like I have to pull the console to get the IP cover off to have a look at the sensor. I also see the manual the reference to the 2 digit "engineering aid" but I don't see a decoder ring as to what this subcode means.

All the dealer wrote up was "Found history code 1282. Performed diagnostic chart for code. Parameters are all within specified ranges". Is there a way I can pull the engineering code through the DIC or do I need a scanner? Is there a list of what the engineering codes for this DTC mean? Thanks!

I don't find a "decoder ring" for these codes either. You do need a scanner to read them.

If the yaw sensor is out of place, it might be reading your rapid acceleration as a change in direction - when you do resolve the problem post what it was.

Sorry not any help.

Ok. Dealer found and fixed the problem. Said after conferring with the 'factory' they found a bracket missing that supports the yaw sensor. Referred to it as a "pencil bracket". I don't see anything in the shop manual that shows a part like this and there's no reference to it in the yaw sensor R&R section. Dealer also said that the bracket was left off from the factory but I believe it's possible that it was left off as part of a LoJack installation by a different dealer. Anyway, not DTC c1282 under hard accel anymore. Cool.
