What is the difference in selecting true or false?

I asked this same question on LS1Tech a while back and got 1 response I think so I'm guessing no one knows. The one response I did get said he wasn't sure but had been to the track with it set to true and then set to false and saw no difference in the quarter.

MY car is a 2003 and came set on false. All the earlier year files I've seen are set on true?

This sounds like a darned good question for carputing.com's LS1 Edit forum.

I'd like to know the answer to this question myself. The user's manual doesn't do a very good job at all of describing what these setting changes might (or might not) do for you.

This from Chris at Slowcar.
A4 TCC Tab - Allow TCC lock during shift:
This determines whether the TCC can be locked through a shift (if locked before) or if the computer will force disengagement.

I still don't understand.

I'm guessing having it unlocked during the shift will just save some wear and tear on the tranny. I set mine to true on my last flash but am gonna return to false on my next flash since I've noticed no gains from it.

It does just that.

If set to true, the converter will remain locked during a shift.
GM used this mostly on the heavy duty truck calibrations with the 4l80E.

You have to pay attention to the apply/release MPH vs TPS tables in 4th gear.
If the converted is told to lock @30MPH in third, but not lock until 45MPH in 4th, the conveter will still unlock during the gear change until the 4th gear MPH qualifications are met.
