3.42s
Okay I just got xs power long tube headers along with ZO6 3.42 gears installed. My tuner informed that I had 3.42s already installed (I have a 2000 A4). I have owned the car for just about six years and upon purchasing I knew it had Borla Stingers, vararam intake and a mail order tune. Years ago I checked the glove box and saw the code “GU2” and assumed I had 2.73s. The difference in my car before dropping it off and getting it today was like night and day. Is it safe to assume that the difference was in the tune? Or, are 3.42 gears (1st-3rd) in a ZO6 more aggressive than in a Non-ZO6?
My tuner advised that my old set of 3.42s was in good working order and only required new seals and gaskets. I am just really curious about this. Please note before posting, I did a search but it didn’t answer my question, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

You are right, however 3.42s had been installed prior to me purchasing the car and it wasn't revealed to me. I found out this week after talking with my tuner.

Better check the diff that came out, to be sure.
A lot of the A4 tune files from GM are set to 3.42 gears even though the cars had 2.73 or 3.15 gears.
If your tuner didnt know that, ahem, you may want to............................

Thanks for the information. That's the kind of answer I was looking for.
