Trouble with codes on 2004 convertable
For the last couple of weeks, I have been getting ABS and Traction control codes on my 2004 convertible. It has about 72,000 miles and does not have select ride control. The first code was for the front curbside ABS/ wheel bearing. So I bought one from GM and installed it. After getting to about 15mph, the codes are still present. Now I am getting the following codes C1233,1232,1248, and 1283. I know that 2 of the codes are for both left and right from ABS/wheel speed sensors. Any ideas on what my problem may be? Could it be the EBCM?

I read your posting and I too am having problems throwing codes. Traction, ABS, etc. I hear there is a circuit board that I can take out and send away and cost much less than having the dealer fix it. Where is the circuit board located in the vehicle?

There is a wheel speed sensor at each corner The ECM uses this data in both the ABS braking system and the traction control system--With ABS it prevents tire skidding ona hard stop---with TCS it uses the date to prevent wheel spin on a hard launch
Typically the codes are from a fouled pigtail at the wheel speed sensors--clean them-
The only other reason for the codes would be a tire change other than stock that was not corrected in your tune--A rear diff ratio will not throw any codes
