Default Powerloader Yes - No

I was on a cruise this weekend and was in a C5 A4 car and was great and like the performance. Is it worth the money and does the job with no problems down the road. Thanks for the help.

Well you may be better off with Ed Wright custom programming as getting the Steve Cole reprogrammed in case of changing your stuff later has poor survey results.

Looks up. What I mean to say is getting the PowerLoader reprogrammed in the future may be problematic.

Powerloader was a great mod for my car. Sent back for some "reprogramming" and took 5 months for return. But the results and quality are tops.

It took me 5 months to get my powerloader after I sent it back to be reprogramed. To make matters worse my car is shifting too soon and I have to send it back again to have it reprogramed for the correct shift points. Rather than wait another 5 months I am going to have the Vettedoctors tune my PCM.

I had the Powerloader II installed (by Steve Cole himself) 4 months ago and I love the increase in performance. For me it was well worth the $. I was told the delivery lead time was 12 weeks and it was exactly that. Steve told me if I needed any changes made just bring it by and he would take care of it right away now that he was catching up on the backlog after his accident. I had the car dynoed a month ago and the air/fuel mixture was flat at 12.5 from 4200-6200 RPM. Not bad.

Probably the most generic tune out there. Go with a good tuner and LS1 edit.

I went with Ed Wright. Great service, great turn-around time. He Previoiusly did a chip for my '93 and I spent a lot of time debating Powerloader or Ed Wright for my '99. Ed's previoius good service and quick response to questions convinced to have him do a new PCM for the '99. I am very happy with that decision. Putting in the PCM is more of a PITA than the Powerloader, but much less of one that waiting weeks for something to show up. With Ed, you'll get it a new or re-programmed PCM within days and he is very responsive to any questions you have.

Well, you said you drove in a car with it, what do you think? I LOVE the powerloader, couldn't imagine being without it. If this Ed guy makes a better product, go with him, but I didn't read here that this other product is better. I would hate to spend the cash and have mediocre results. Anyone with the PL2 will tell you that it rules!!!
