My LS6 MAF sensor broke in half on the dyno. I'm running the A&A kit with a Vortec T trim at 9psi. It burst when the throttle was released on the last dyno pull. My tuner said the relief valve was openining. What could have caused this problem? I need a new MAF and I was told a 6.0 truck MAF will also work. I'm trying to find one in a salvage yard is why I'm looking for other options other than an LS6. Can someone point me in the direction of what other MAFS will work?
I have a tail 50mm and I still blew my MAF apart. I believe it was from over tightening the t-bolt clamps and the constant heating/cooling of the plastic. I was on track when it happened and didn't even realize until I got back to the pits.
IMO, a plastic MAF doesn't belong on an FI setup unless its pre-turbo. A&A makes a MAF skirt that will stop this from happening again, if you aren't going to go SD that would be the best option.
I ordered the girdle from A&A today. I need to get my car home from the tuner so I need to get a used MAFS for the time being. Is the 6.0 truck sensor the same as the LS6 as I was told? I'm sure it is much more common to find in a salvage yard than the LS6.
