Default new to hp tuners

I 'm new to hp tuners (or for any type of tuning). My hp tuner will only scan I can not edit anything! Is my tune locked? It was tuned with efi by the shop who installed my motor. Also how do you run a data log it will not do that either!

I was about to ask this also. I connected my HPT for the first time yesterday and got the same thing you did. Scans, but will not connect for tuning puposes. I know my car was tuned by Ed Wright before I bought it about 8 years ago. Not trying to high jack your thread, just needing the same answer that you need.

Where do you get the error, when you're trying to read the VCM or after you read it when the program is trying to open it to edit it? Have you posted on the HPT forum yet?

Not sure about denscor's, but I get mine when trying "Read Entire VCM" , right after I hit begin. It says "Interface not found". I have sent an email to hpt support but have gotten an answer yet. I have researched the hpt forum but have not posted the question yet. There's a lot of reading there.

take what OS you're on and post it up on the HPT forum under "VCM Suite General" and you'll have much better luck getting some help there.

I think my problem was that I was trying to read the vcm in the edit mode while my scanning was taking place. I went back to the garage while I was waiting for hpt support to get back to me and opened the edit program without the scan open and everything started working fine. Maybe that's your problem to. Let's hope so.

correct.

After scanning, on the top left corner of your scanner there are two lighting bolts, One is connect and one is disconnect. Dont forget to click on the disconnect after scanning if you want to upload a new tune.
