Default Help!

Have a 1998 Corvette,starts up fine,runs all day long in
park.Put it in gear and go more then 2 MPH and it dies.Starts right up again.Have no check engine on.Could someone tell me whats going on this.Thanks.

Even though you do not have a Check Engine Light I would pull codes. You definitely have something causing this. I don't suppose you get the "pull key and wait 10 sec" either on the DIC? Sounds like it could be a wheel sensor. But you do have to pull the codes off the PCM and post them up. Also, I would move this to the tech section. Get better responses over there.

Sounds like a column lock failure to me, since it's speed related. As noted, pull the codes.

The car has a Service Column Lock light on if that is any help.What would I need to do to fix this? Thanks

Were the GM recalls done for the column lock issues? If done recently, it should still be covered.

Or better yet. Just get the CLB from corvettes of houston and be done with it. GMs fix usually isn't the "fix". Definitely the fix for your problem.

Souds like it is in the "VATS" system--(vehcle anti theft) Try using your spare key--If all ease fails just have the VATS disabled by a tuner
