Picked up my '03 in July - 1st vette I have owned. After getting really familiar with the car, I realized two things wrong - I kept hitting the rev limiter at 5600 rpm and could hear engine pinging from 4500 up. Took it to Carlisle this year and got lucky - the pouring rain left Chuck's tent open for me to get a chance to talk with the Master himself. Drove it to the CoW tent and let the Doctor go to work. After a very thorough tune, test drive, and Vararam air bridge installation (to go with the Vararam already on the car when I bought it), Chuck reviewed the tune with me. A less-than-knowledgable tuner had gotten ahold of the car once before and had really done it some injustice. Timing was advanced flat across the entire range at just a few degrees and the genious had lowered the rev limiter down to 5600. Also, I guess the previous tuner was really worried about flying down the Autobahn because the top speed was lowered, too! Anyway, after reviewing the tune, they warned me to be EXTRA careful driving home in the rain. I am glad I payed attention to that warning. I briefly stepped down on her once in second gear and immediately felt the rear shift sideways and layed off before getting into some big trouble. I could not wait until the next morning to head back up to Carlisle for Day 2 with a new tune on dry pavement. All I can tell you is WOW - WHAT A DIFFERENCE!!! Totally different car now. I thought the car was a blast before - now that it is tuned to actually take advantage of the CAI, TB, shorty headers, x-pipe and exhaust, the car is so much more fun to drive now! Chuck knows what he is doing and is worth every penny. Do not hesitate to let a real professional tune your vette's powerplant!
